More and more I observe people who have always been very organized, that they lose their cords from their hands. They are jerky and they do not know each other anymore. They are afraid that they will lose everything if they do not stay close and make an effort.
In spiritual circles one often hears then to let everything flow simply, to give the reins. Yes, what does that really mean and how can we do that?
We are at a time when major restructuring is taking place. We all can feel that, especially when we experience ourselves so distracted and powerless.
I recently received a text message that describes the scenario very well:
Recently I was diagnosed with A.A.A.D.D. (Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder)
And that's how it turns out:
I decide to water my lawn. As I turn on the garden hose in the driveway, I look over to my car and realize that it should be washed.
As I walk to the garage, I notice that there is mail on the patio table that I had previously taken out of the mailbox. So I decide to go through the post first before washing the car.
I put the car keys on the table, throw the advertisement in the bin under the table and notice that the bin is full. So I put the advertisement back on the table and decide to take the paper waste away.
But then I think, if I drive away to dispose of the paper garbage, I can also withdraw money from the bank. I grab my purse and notice that my checking account card is missing. It occurs to me that the card is lying on the desk in the office, so I go to the desk in the house and see there a cup of coffee around, which I still wanted to drink.
I grab my bank card and decide to put the coffee away so I do not accidentally tip it over. The coffee was cold and I decided to warm it up. As I walk into the kitchen with the coffee, I tipped the flower vase on the dining table over and so the flowers needed water again.
I put the coffee on the dining table and discover my glasses, which I have been looking for all morning. I decide to put the glasses on the desk in the office, but first the flowers need fresh water. I put your glasses back on the dining table, run with the vase to the sink and suddenly see the TV remote control. Someone left them on the dining table.
I realize that if I want to watch TV later, I'll look for the remote, but will not remember that it's on the dining table, so I decide to bring it back to the living room where it belongs, but first I will give the flowers fresh water. I fill the vase with fresh water, but unfortunately I spill some water on the floor.
So I put the remote control back on the dining table, get towels and wipe up the water. Then I run back into the hall and try to remember what I was up to. At the end of the day:
- the car is not washed,
- I did not withdraw any money,
- a cold cup of coffee is on the dining table,
- the flowers still have no fresh water,
- is my bank card still not in my purse,
- I can not find the remote
- I'm looking for my glasses again
- I can not remember where the car keys are.
When I try to figure out why I did not do anything today, I'm astonished because I know that I've been busy all day damned and now completely exhausted. I realize this is a serious problem and I'm trying to get help right now, but first I have to check my e-mails ...
Do you also recognize yourself a bit in this text?
How do you deal with it? The feeling that you have to pull yourself together rises very fast. We become insensitive and often just want to crawl into the famous shell. We feel that with further effort we will not succeed any more and that makes us feel even more exhausted. There is a sense of uselessness and that is even less tolerable. So, just try it again, it used to work out sooner if we put in more effort.
We dance from one thing to the next and further and in the end nothing got done, except that we turned in circles.
A nice feeling, if we really enjoyed this dance, but who is able to laugh about this. We prefer to punish ourselves for our supposed inability, and play with the idea that we are old, sick or .... (You will have your own answer to it).
Try new ways
Well, how do we deal with these new requirements so that we can get back to enjoy our lives?
As mentioned in earlier blogs, through awareness & consciousness, we can gradually create a space that lets us make new decisions from our own center.
